Here's some random info about me.
I have a cat, Mr. Max. He's a great
roommate as well as a faithful friend. I adopted Mr. Max while I lived
in Texas.
My taste in TV shows is rather eclectic. I'm a big fan of Lexx and own
all of the DVDs released so far. Other shows I've enjoyed include
include Beavis & Butt-head, Married with Children,
Aeon Flux, The X-Files, The Outer Limits, The
Prisoner, and Futurama. And every once in a while I don't
mind catching a rerun of The Bob Newhart Show on Nick-at-Nite.
I have a small local-area network at home consisting of a
Sony Vaio running Fedora Core 2 Linux, an Apple Macintosh G4 running Mac OS X,
and a Fujitsu
notebook running Red
Hat Linux 9. I do all of my development work on the Linux
machines and use the Mac for multimedia, games, and pretty much
everything else.
I hate doomed projects and death marches. I can't stand people who get
obsessed with one technology and think that it's a solution for all
engineering problems. (Can you say "Java" and "Web"? Heh.)
After nearly two years of suffering as an owner of a clunky,
uninspiring, boring, dangerous SUV (what the hell was I thinking?) I
am now the proud owner of a 2004
Subaru WRX STi. I love every minute that I spend in this car; it's
absolutely exhilarating. There isn't another car on the market that is
within my budget that I would rather have. Those stupid, bloated SUVs
eat my fumes. The car came without a stereo system, so I've installed
my own: Infinity 52.5i Kappas in the front, 42.5i Kappas in the back,
Infinity BassLink powered subwoofer in the trunk, and a Sony CDX-MP70
CD/MP3 head unit. Now the only thing left to do is get the windows
tinted.
Finally, here is the obligatory picture of
me. Much to the chagrin of my parents, my hair is bleached, as it
has been for the last 6 years.
